Tryon Arts & Crafts School
From summer workshops for kids to gardening and maintenance, the school welcomes volunteers to pitch in as it pursues its objective of becoming a regional center for teaching traditional and contemporary crafts. Volunteers can opt for a position on a committee organizing tours and events in the gallery or help with sales in the gift shop, among other helpful contributions. Most positions are available year-round. For more: (828) 859-8323; www.tryonartsandcrafts.org

Blowing Rock Art & History Museum
The museum is seeking hospitality volunteers for summer events, including concerts with Pastyme (July 12) and New Century Saxophone Quartet (August 30), and a portrait drawing demonstration with Tony Griffin (July 24). Volunteers man the events and speak with guests about exhibits and artists. Candidates must be 18 or older and are encouraged to contact the museum approximately two weeks in advance of a given event. For more: (828) 295-9099; www.blowingrockmuseum.org

Arts Council of Henderson County
Whether you’re an artist, entertainer, writer, PR whiz, computer expert, or handyperson, volunteers are invited to help with community outreach, fund-raising, and customer
service so the arts council can sustain its many activities. Applications are rolling and volunteers may inquire about assisting with any of the council’s myriad events and programs. For more: (828) 693-8504; www.acofhc.org
