Bio:

In 1992, I (18 years old) began living on a 60 acre farm bestowed upon me by my grandfather (who raised me). Shortly after moving to the farm, I realized that I was a painter, so I began the thrilling, scary, fun adventure of being an artist. In 1995 finished college with a specialized fine art degree at Lenoir-Rhyne College. After failing miserably in corporate America (graphic design), I decided to get my teachers' licensure. Dr. Winter (from LR) told me I should go to England to get my MAFA in painting. I applied to University of Leeds, Bretton Hall in Yorkshire, and got accepted much to my astonishment. In 1998-1999 (a 15 month programme), I attended Bretton Hall in West Yorkshire, England. I will never get over that experience. I learned about pigments and how to use my imagination and articulate my intentions in my work. Well, these are hard things to learn, so I am still learning them. After I returned from the UK, I drove to LA, California and back. Restless, I decided to stay on the farm and teach art until I could figure out what to do. Things are great. For the past 10 years I have been painting and really developing my work, manage the farm (ride endurance horses, grow English and vegetable gardens, plant orchards, keep honey bees, etc). I have a husband who is also a painter (he is apprenticing to be a tattoo artist, currently), and we have a love-child named Artemisia. Every night, we are in our art studio, painting. And we are living happily ever after.....
