Choreographer Jerome Robbins’ NY Export: Opus Jazz became a hit when it was performed on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1958. The story of rebellious urban youth is told through ballet, jazz, and ballroom dancing set to Latin, African, and American rhythms. This award-winning film adaptation was created by The New York City Ballet and premiered at the 2010 South by Southwest Film Festival. A Q&A with filmmaker Ellen Bar follows.
