“Love is a little thief,” proclaims Dorabella, one of the lead characters in this capricious 18th century opera about infidelity and its guiles. The play’s title loosely translates to “Thus Do All Women,” befitting its tale of two engaged men who cavort to prove that their fiancées, as they assume of all women, will act unfaithfully in the face of seduction.
