Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony

The Asheville Symphony teams up with Asheville Art Museum for a juxtaposition of art and music. Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, popularly called the Pastoral Symphony, was inspired by the landscape of Vienna. The museum will present images of the local landscape to complement the music. Pianist Daniil Trifonov will also perform Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1, and the program concludes with Wagner’s “Prelude” and “Liebestod.” Saturday, 8 p.m.; (828) 254-7046; www.ashevillesymphony.org
