Western North Carolina was once known throughout the world for its furniture production, but this exhibit reveals another side of the industry. More than 20 artists push the boundary between craft and art with contemporary chairmaking, exploring expressive construction and functional design, while acknowledging the rich history behind the art of furnishings.
