Hastings is a versatile artist who has worked in other mediums, but his passion is oil painting. captivated by his vivid depictions of nature. Hastings creates exaggerated perspectives by using shadows and highlights to suggest an almost surreal space. Many of his pieces are large scale which creates a feeling that the viewer could actually step into them.

Hastings paintings will be on display at Seven Sisters Gallery through March 11, 2012. Seven Sisters has been a staple in downtown Black Mountain for the
past 30 years. It has become a favorite destination for many art lovers because of its casual charm coupled with some of the finest quality handcrafts and one of the widest selections in the area.
